Year 2 Updates!

New game mode

Aside from the cross-device multiplayer that players have been enjoying so far, this 2nd year brings a new game mode update: Duel Mode. In this mode, you can race 1v1, whether against random players or your own friends; against CPUs; or even in specific ranked matches.

New gadgets

Now, for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds players, you probably already know that gadgets are pretty much "crucial" for racing in this game. If you've never played it before, gadgets are basically a way to mod your car to make your races even more exciting. So you're free to equip any gadget to add certain "powers" and boost your chances of winning, according to your own strategy.

In this showcase, they mentioned there will be a new system like the Grand Master Plate, along with 15 new gadgets releasing alongside this update. And if I'm not mistaken, there will be even more gadgets released in the future.

New characters and cosmetics

Along with this Year 2 update, new characters and cosmetics will also be added to the game, for free! We've got Bayonetta, Aigis, plus McLaren Racing outfits and car types. These updates will be rolled out periodically until early 2027. On top of that, there will be limited-time events tailored to the themes of each of these respective updates!

Season-Pass Two = 6 Premium DLCs

In this showcase, SEGA also announced Season Pass Two for the game. There are six premium DLCs offered, containing the Godzilla Pack, EVANGELION Pack, Virtual Sanrio Puroland Pack, SEGALAND Pack, Midgar Pack (Working Title), and Reload Revival Royal Pack. You'll also instantly get the SEGA Consoles Pack and Decal Pack as bonuses! These six premium DLCs are scheduled to release periodically until December 2027. So throughout the year, there will be constant new content dropping.

Honestly, I personally really want this Season Pass Two just for the Hello Kitty character in the Virtual Sanrio Puroland Pack. She looks so cute, and with the pinky-pinky colors, it just makes it even more appealing, even though I personally don't know much about the Hello Kitty franchise.

Oh also! They mentioned that if you own Season Pass One, and get Season Pass Two as well, you'll score a bonus content: Super Shadow! The offer just keeps getting sweeter 🤣

Price Drop!

Now this. This was the most exciting news while watching the showcase earlier. The price dropped! By a lot! And it's permanent too! Originally, this game was priced at 70 USD for the base version, and 90 USD for the deluxe version. But in this showcase, they announced a permanent price drop, making it 40 USD for the base version, and 60 USD for the deluxe version. WOW!

Hopefully, with this permanent price cut, more people will be able to buy and play this game. But it makes me wonder... If there's a big sale like the Winter Sale... Will the price drop even further from this? 👀

Conclusion

That's a quick wrap-up of the Year Two Showcase for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. There's a lot of good news that will definitely spoil the players of this fun racing game. Also, if you want to snag specific cosmetics, you can buy the DLCs shown in the showcase earlier. Hopefully, with these updates, the game will be even more exciting moving forward!

That's all!
